"French people that you don't hate? Mommy, I'm scared!" (Worth A Look)

Much as I hate to admit it, this film was kinda enjoyable.I mean it has all the ingredients of a film you'd enjoy hating. Meg Ryan, an indulgence in romance and a lot of Frenchmen.I tried, I really did.But it wasn't crap.Meg is a jilted wife who goes flying off to Paris looking to win her hubby back. When she get's there, her bag is stolen (her bag contains smuggled goods put there by Kevin Kline's character, unbeknownst to her), so she finds herself with no cash, no ID, no way to get home and way to find her man.Enter Kline, the lovable rogue Frenchie. He wnats his illegal goods back, so he must help the Megger find her bag and...Well you can guess the rest. Hubbie's a jerk, Frenchie is smooth, Meg is frantic but eventually Frenchie brings out her zest for life, n'shit.Meg is tough to dislike for too long. I mean, she's kind of a sweety. Kline does well to not have you hate his guts. Well, he's French after all.Annoying part of the film is Jean Reno playing the happy cop and Tim Robbins playing the goofy, libido-driven ex hubby. They give it all a bit too much nice. Meg's nice enough, we don't need imported nice, damn you.Overall, this is a movie I've now seen twice and I haven't felt compelled to retch yet, so that makes it top of the line in the cacky romance genre, so far as I'm concerned.
